FAQs
Do I select my own pitch on arrival, or can I pick one I know beforehand?
Upon arrival, please approach the main house where you should find one of us to guide to your pitch. If there is no answer at the house, our mobile numbers are available, so please give us a call and we will come to meet you. We always do our best to accommodate pitch requests, but cannot guarantee a specific spot, please get in touch by email for any specific requirements and we’ll do what we can to help.
How do you deal with recycling at Camp Plas?
Did you know that Wales is 2nd in the global leaderboard of countries that recycle?
We take recycling seriously, not because we have to (although we do) but because we care about the nature around us and doing every small act we can to preserve it. We make all our recycling bins available to guests and ask that you are diligent in placing the correct items in each bin provided, as Barney says, “If you can read, you can recycle!”. We regularly check our bins and sort waste that hasn’t been correctly disposed of, it’s a pretty rubbish job, so we’re always grateful when people are diligent about recycling too!
Can we have fires/BBQs at Camp Plas and is there wood available?
The answer is it depends!
Whilst we love a campfire here at Camp Plas, we are increasingly mindful of the risks they pose during dry spells. We do our best to help you create that cosy camping experience and whilst we might sometimes have to prohibit fires in the meadow when it’s dry, we do provide BBQs in our hard standing area so you can still cook up a bacon butty for breakfast, or sausages for your tea! During cooler and wetter months BBQs are permitted and fire pits and wood are available, you can even pre-order them at the time of booking to make sure you guarantee one!
We politely request you don’t bring your own wood onto site.
What is available in the kitchen area?
Our kitchen runs on karma.
We provide all the essentials you could need, in doing so we ask that you always leave the kitchen space and equipment as you found it, or possibly even better than you found it! There is a fridge and small freezer where you can store essentials and a few hobs for cooking on. There is a random selection of pots, pans, utensils and crockery, so you should always be able to open a beer and a tin of beans in a camping food emergency!
